Guided freedive trips
Kelp beds, drop-offs and quiet coves in small groups. For divers who already have the training and want better water than the mainland gives them.
Catalina · Channel Islands · San Diego
A small freediving and snorkeling charter for the Southern California islands — being built in the open, starting with the people who would actually get on the boat.
What we’re doing
Most operators decide what they’re selling, buy the boat, and then go looking for people who want it. We’d rather do it the other way around.
So the question is yours to answer: what kind of day on the water would you actually want, how far would you travel for it, and how often? Those answers decide the boat, the schedule, and where it goes.
Starting points
These are guesses. Tell us we’re wrong.
Kelp beds, drop-offs and quiet coves in small groups. For divers who already have the training and want better water than the mainland gives them.
Most people who want to try this don’t need a certification — they need someone in the water with them the first few times. Breath-hold basics, equalization, and how not to scare yourself.
No certification, no depth, no pressure — just clear water and calm coves. The easiest way to show somebody why you keep going back.
Not everyone wants to get in the water, and that’s fine. Time on the channel, the island from the water, and a good reason to be out there.
The adventurous one
Open-ocean pinnacles and the lee sides that nobody swims to — Farnsworth Bank off Catalina, the west end of San Miguel, the canyon edge off La Jolla. Weather-dependent, exposed, and not a first trip. This is the part a boat actually unlocks.
The one we’re building toward
This one we’re building toward rather than offering today. When it happens it’ll be its own trip — not a speargun bolted onto a snorkel day — and it’ll stay well outside the protected areas. If it’s the reason you’d come out, say so. It moves up the list.
We’re no experts but… salt, air, and open water fix just about everything.
Stay in it
One address, nothing else. You’ll hear when there’s a boat, a date and a place to be — and not much in between.
